Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University in Bhubaneswar has set up a control room to facilitate the return of Nepali students.
This comes after a B.Tech 3rd year Nepali student’s suicide inside her hostel room.

KIIT authorities deeply regret the recent campus incident and have issued an apology. In response, two hostel officials have been suspended, two security staff members terminated, and one senior administrative officer from the International Relations Office (IRO) suspended. The university is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students and staff.
The incident involved the suicide of a Nepali girl student, allegedly following a fight with her boyfriend, which caused acute tension among students.
Despite efforts by the KIIT authorities to calm the situation, students blocked the main road and created obstacles.
