Bhubaneswar: In its effort in combatting COVID-19, Khimji Foundation, the philanthropic wing of Odisha’s largest Jewellery chain, Khimji Jewellers donated an ambulance to Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Puri, on Wednesday, to be used in case of medical emergencies for the devotees/pilgrims/servitors and other staffs of the temple administration.
Mitesh Khimji, Director of Khimji Foundation formally handed over the ambulance to Dr. Krishan Kumar, IAS, Chief Administrator, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Puri. The ambulance will be dedicatedly used for the devotees/pilgrims/servitors and other workforces under SJTA who are involved in discharging their duties during the pandemic.
Appreciating the gesture by Khimji Foundation, Dr. Krishan Kumar, Chief Administrator, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), said, “On behalf of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, I would like to thank Khimji Foundation for donating the ambulance. As we know, generally lakes of devotees come for darshan of Lord Jagannath and at this time we have always been looking forward to provide basic health facilities to everyone in need. And I hope this ambulance will definitely benefit at the time of any health emergency of the devotees, servitors or the people staying and taking care of the temple.”
Speaking on the occasion, Mitesh Khimji, Director Khimji Foundation said, “At this point of time while entire India is fighting with the second wave of COVID-19, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has taken up multiple responsibilities in its fight against this pandemic. We feel ourselves fortunate enough to get this opportunity to extend our support to Shree JagannathTemple Administration by means of this ambulance”.
