A crucial meeting of Chhatisa Niyog was held at the Puri Srimandir office to discuss how the repair work of the Ratna Bhandar can be done efficiently.
After chairing the important meeting, SJTA Chief Administrator, Arabinda Padhee, informed that the repair work of the Ratna Bhandar will begin from December 17.
Earlier, ASI Superintendent D.B. Gadrnaik had said that the ASI will try to complete the repair work of the Ratna Bhandar as soon as possible. The ASI official said that it is not possible to say when this work will be completed. Since the laser scanning report has found cracks in the walls and floor of the Ratna Bhandar, the repair work of will be done properly.
Meanwhile, the Pahili Bhoga Niti timings on December 16 and the Debabhishek and Makar Sankranti Niti timings have been approved in the Chhatisa Niyog meeting. The SJTA Chief Administrator said that the Diba Pahuda of Mahaprabhu will be held keeping in mind the Nitis.
Similarly, the ASI will repair the Ratna Bhandar from 1 pm to 6 pm after the Dwitiya Bhog Mandap or Dwiprahar Dhoopa in the Srimandir. During this time, devotees can only have darshan of Mahaprabhu from the Bahar Katha.
However, the repair work will remain closed on some special days, Saturdays, Sundays, December 31, New Year and days having special rituals of the Holy Trinity.
The SJTA Chief Administrator informed that the ASI has sought time to complete the renovation work of the Ratna Bhandar within three months.
During the renovation work of the Ratna Bhandar, as per the SOP, only authorized personnel, the administration of Srimandir and the ASI staff will be present adhering to all safety measure.
After the renovation work of the Ratna Bhandar is completed, the ornaments will be shifted from the temporary room and brought to the Ratna Bhandar for inventory.
