A special team of Uttar Pradesh Police carried out a raid near Uttara Square under Dhauli police limits on Wednesday morning, in connection with a suspected narcotics trafficking case.
According to preliminary information, the operation was aimed at tracing the owner of a vehicle allegedly linked to drug smuggling. The vehicle had earlier met with an accident in Uttar Pradesh and was found to be involved in illegal trade. Police had arrested the driver, who revealed that the owner resides in Bhubaneswar’s Dhauli area.
Acting on this lead, UP Police arrived in the capital and, along with local police, began investigations near a closed building at Uttara Square. Media reports suggest the vehicle may have been used in contraband or illegal trade, though primary sources confirm its connection to narcotics trafficking.
Officials said the joint probe is focused on verifying the owner’s identity and involvement. Clear details are yet to emerge, but police assured that once identified, legal action will follow.
