India’s national record holder Jyothi Yarraji clinched the bronze medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver Meet at Kalinga Stadium.
Yarraji clocked 13.24 seconds to secure India’s first medal of the meet. The race was dominated by Bahamas’ Charisma Taylor, who stormed to gold with a sub-13-second timing of 12.96 seconds. Japan’s Yumi Tanaka finished second in 13.04 seconds, while Odisha’s Pragyan Prasanti Sahu narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth.
The bronze adds another international podium to Yarraji’s growing list of achievements, reinforcing her status as India’s leading hurdler. The electrifying atmosphere at Kalinga Stadium witnessed athletes from 23 countries competing across 18 events, with Yarraji’s medal marking a proud moment for Indian athletics.
