Kandhamal: Incidents of loot at temples continue to rise across Odisha leading to public resentment. Unidentified miscreants decamped with ornaments and valuables from two temples in Baliguda area of Kandhamal district.
Miscreants reportedly looted gold ornaments & cash from Jagannath & Maa Dakshina Kali temple here.
According to available reports, the anti-socials entered the shrines after breaking open the gates and looted gold and silver ornaments of the presiding deities. The miscreants also robbed the chest (hundi) kept inside the shrines.
The matter came to fore after the servitor of the temple witnessed the broken gate of the temple today morning when he came to conduct the morning rituals.
Reportedly, the incident has been captured in a CCTV camera.
Following the incident, a complaint has been lodged with the police and further investigation of the case is underway.
