In response to rising concerns over a possible cholera outbreak, local authorities in Binjharpur, Jajpur district, have issued a directive mandating the closure of all food establishments.

This includes roadside eateries, fast-food stalls, and meat shops, as well as outlets selling packaged drinking water.

The Tahasil Office has instructed that all dhabas, chat stalls, ice cream factories, fish, chicken, and mutton shops remain shut for two weeks. This move comes in the wake of multiple cases of diarrheal infections surfacing in the region, raising alarms about food and water safety.

Health officials have emphasised the importance of adhering to hygiene protocols to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases. Residents are being advised to consume only safe drinking water and avoid outside food to safeguard their health.

This precautionary measure aims to control the spread of infection and ensure the well-being of the local population. The administration is closely monitoring the situation and will reassess further actions based on developments.
