Bringing back superstar Rajinikanth in his iconic avatar as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, the sequel is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and promises to take the action, chaos, and trademark dark humour of the 2023 blockbuster to unprecedented heights.
The newly released footage offers a detailed glimpse into an even more dangerous plot. While the original film followed a retired jailer whose peaceful life was upended by his son’s disappearance, the sequel thrusts Pandian into a massive turf war against a formidable new underworld empire.
A Star-Studded Ensemble Cast
Alongside Rajinikanth, Jailer 2 boasts a massive, expanded pan-Indian star cast. The film features Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, SJ Suryah, and Suraj Venjaramoodu in prominent roles, with several of them playing intense antagonistic characters. Additionally, the action entertainer is slated to feature high-profile cameo appearances by big names like Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Vijay Sethupathi, alongside chart-busting music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
With pre-release buzz at an all-time high following a successful musical promotional campaign, Jailer 2 is scheduled for a grand worldwide theatrical release in standard and IMAX formats on Oct 15.
