In a landmark event, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully carried out its first rocket launch carrying a payload from Uttar Pradesh soil. The launch took place on Saturday in collaboration with Thrust Tech India Limited.
At precisely 5:14:33 PM, the 15-kg rocket ascended to an altitude of 1.1 km, releasing a mini satellite payload. The satellite deployed a parachute just 5 meters before hitting the ground and safely landed within a 400-meter radius, officials confirmed.
ISRO scientist Abhishek Singh explained, “The rocket performed flawlessly. After the payload was ejected, it safely parachuted down while the rocket also descended without incident.”
This successful test serves as a warm-up for a larger event scheduled for October–November 2025, where nearly 900 youth-developed satellites will be launched and tested, encouraging young minds to explore space science.
Vinod Kumar, Director of Thrust Tech India, noted that their motor test also passed successfully, marking another step forward in India’s growing private-public space partnership.
Unlike earlier experiments conducted in Ahmedabad using drones, this test marks the first full-scale rocket launch with a satellite in Uttar Pradesh, making it a historic moment for the state and the nation’s space aspirations.
