The Iranian Embassy in New Delhi has publicly expressed its profound appreciation to the people of India for their moral support and solidarity during Tehran’s recent 12-day military confrontation with Israel.
In a message shared on social media platform X, the embassy conveyed its gratitude to “noble and freedom-loving people of India” — including citizens, politicians, NGOs, religious leaders, media, and social activists — for vocally supporting Iran in what it describes as a defensive victory against Israel and its ally, the United States.
“The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in New Delhi extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who, in various forms, stood firmly and vocally with the great nation of Iran,” the statement read.
The conflict, which escalated on June 13 following Israeli strikes on critical Iranian facilities, saw continued hostilities even after a U.S.-brokered ceasefire was announced. Despite the temporary truce, both sides exchanged missile attacks for several hours.
With the dust settling, Iran’s public outreach to India signals not only diplomatic appreciation but also a reminder of the growing geopolitical nuances in South Asia’s role in global affairs.
The embassy’s statement underscores a strengthening people-to-people connection and highlights India’s perceived role as a moral voice during international crises.
