New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry said that the second wave of coronavirus is five times the previous peak in Rajasthan and UP, 4.5 times in Chhattisgarh and 3.3 times in Delhi.
The health ministry’s report further said that Karnataka, Kerala, Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Goa and Odisha are not only reporting higher peaks but also high COVID-19 case growth trajectory. The rate of rise in infection is more rapid in the second wave. This has virtually devastated the health infrastructure, the report added.
It said efforts are made to increase the availability of oxygen and added that the government is constantly working on increasing cryogenic cylinders.
The ministry said there must be a focus on vaccination to check the coronavirus surge.”
