The BCCI has picked India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming IDFC First Bank five-match T20I series against England starting from 22nd January in Kolkata.

Suryakumar Yadav (C), Sanju Samson (wk), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Axar Patel (vc), Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammad Shami, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, Dhruv Jurel (wk).
A key highlight of the squad for the upcoming five-match series is the return of pacer Mohammed Shami to international cricket after a 14-month absence.
Several important members of India’s Test team, including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant, have been rested for this series.
Meanwhile, Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy have rejoined the team. Additionally, Dhruv Jurel will be a fresh addition to the squad, taking the place of Jitesh Sharma as the second wicketkeeper behind Samson.
The next World Cup will take place in 2026, but in the meantime, the team will need to find replacements for Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja. Recently, the team has adopted an attacking philosophy, which has allowed them to post impressive scores.
Players like Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma have been particularly troublesome for opposing teams, while Arshdeep Singh has played a crucial role with the ball by providing early breakthroughs.
