BJD President and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Odisha Assembly, Naveen Patnaik, met with the family of the deceased police mitra, Sahadev Nayak, on Saturday.
Naveen offered both financial and moral support to the grieving family of Nayak, who was brutally killed by miscreants in the capital city on the morning of January 8.
He provided financial assistance of ₹50,000 to the bereaved family and announced that he would cover the educational expenses for Nayak’s two daughters.
Sahadev, who also served as the president of the sweepers’ association in the capital, was on target for opposing the mushrooming drug trade. He was beheaded near Rasulgarh on January 8.
The BJD supremo strongly condemned the heinous crime and assured that his party would continue to fight until Sahadev’s family gets justice.
