India’s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector is set to become a key economic driver, generating high-quality jobs and contributing significantly to the nation’s economy.
The recently held Meet in India Conclave 2025 in Jaipur marked a strategic effort by the government to elevate India’s MICE industry to global prominence.
Union Minister of Tourism & Culture, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, emphasised India’s ambition to develop at least ten cities into premier MICE destinations. With a solid infrastructure network that includes world-class venues like Bharat Mandapam and Jio World Centre, India is poised to attract high-profile global conventions and exhibitions.
Experts at the conclave stressed the importance of a unified national MICE strategy, strengthened state-level promotional efforts, and skill development initiatives to further enhance India’s standing in the sector. States like Rajasthan and Odisha were spotlighted for their robust infrastructure and rich cultural heritage, making them ideal contenders for international events.
According to industry projections, India’s MICE market revenue, which stood at $49.4 billion in 2024, is expected to reach $103.7 billion by 2030, registering a strong 13% CAGR. This growth trajectory is fueled by rapid advancements in digital connectivity, transport infrastructure, and an increasing push for public-private collaborations.
The Meet in India Conclave 2025 set the stage for strategic partnerships between stakeholders, policymakers, and business leaders to further integrate India into the global MICE landscape. With government-backed initiatives and increased international interest, India is on track to emerge as a powerhouse in the global events and tourism sector.
