Indian airlines have cancelled several flights across northern India as civil aviation faces disruptions following Operation Sindoor, a coordinated missile strike by Indian Armed Forces on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Multiple airports, including Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Amritsar, Bhuj, and Jodhpur, have been temporarily shut as a security precaution. Srinagar Airport has been confirmed closed for all civil operations, as per official airline statements.

Air India announced the cancellation of flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot until noon. Two international flights headed for Amritsar were diverted to Delhi.

SpiceJet and IndiGo echoed similar advisories, citing changing airspace conditions and the temporary closure of several northern airports. Akasa Air and Air India Express also suspended operations to key cities until further updates.

The shutdown comes after Indian Air Force missiles struck nine terror targets, including the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) stronghold in Bahawalpur and the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) base in Muridke. Intelligence reports confirmed the destruction of key operational centers of JeM, LeT, and Hizbul Mujahideen, all of which are UN-designated terrorist organizations.

As Operation Sindoor unfolds, travelers are advised to check directly with airlines for real-time updates. Heightened security remains in place across India’s northern frontier, with schools closed in several Jammu districts and civil defense protocols activated.
