To strengthen collaboration with political parties, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has concluded its largest-ever engagement initiative at the national level.
Spanning 25 days and engaging over 28,000 political party representatives, the initiative included 4,719 structured meetings organized by Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs), District Election Officers (DEOs), and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs). The goal was to address pending electoral issues within the existing legal framework while fostering transparency and efficiency in the electoral process.
The meetings, initiated as part of directives from Chief Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Kumar along with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, have been hailed as a success. Feedback from the political representatives emphasized the positive impact of this proactive approach, which embraced active participation across Assembly Constituencies, districts, and states/UTs.
The ECI has sought action reports from State and UT CEOs to evaluate progress and address any unresolved issues, ensuring all concerns are systematically escalated to the Commission.
