India and the West Indies are set to lock horns in the opening fixture of their five-match T20I series on Tuesday evening at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
Following a successful 2-1 triumph in the preceding ODI series, the home side aims to carry its winning momentum into the shortest format.
The Indian squad enters the contest backed by strong form, boasting 12 members from the triumphant Asian Games gold-winning contingent.
Led by Shreyas Iyer, the team blends core international experience with young breakout stars. Meanwhile, young batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi is unlikely to feature in the playing XI for the series opener as team management weighs its combination.
The West Indies, captained by Shai Hope, will look to bounce back and counter India’s depth in spinning and pace options. The match is scheduled to commence at 7 PM IST, with the toss taking place a half-hour prior.
