India Urges Citizens to Leave Iran Immediately Despite Temporary US–Iran Ceasefire

The Ministry of External Affairs has issued a fresh advisory urging Indian nationals to leave Iran as soon as possible, even after the announcement of a temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

The advisory, released on April 8, follows continued concerns over safety in the region. Authorities emphasized that the situation remains uncertain despite the two-week pause in hostilities.

In its official communication, the ministry strongly advised Indian citizens currently in Iran to exit the country in coordination with the Indian Embassy. It also instructed them to follow designated travel routes recommended by officials to ensure safety.

The advisory clearly warned against attempting to reach international land borders independently. Citizens have been asked to consult the Embassy before making any travel decisions, as uncoordinated movement may pose risks.

This update comes shortly after both countries agreed to temporarily halt military actions. However, officials highlighted that the ceasefire is fragile and conditions on the ground may change quickly.

The government reiterated its commitment to supporting Indian nationals abroad and ensuring their safe return. Citizens are encouraged to remain in close contact with embassy officials and stay updated through verified channels.

The advisory reflects a cautious approach, prioritizing the safety and well-being of all individuals in a rapidly evolving geopolitical situation.
