Batting first, India posted a formidable total of 298/7 in their allotted 50 overs, powered by consistent scoring across all phases. Their innings was marked by a late surge in the death overs, adding 69 runs between overs 41 and 50, which proved decisive in the final outcome.
South Africa’s chase began with promise, reaching 52/1 in the first powerplay. However, India’s disciplined bowling and sharp fielding turned the tide during the middle overs, where South Africa faltered, losing key wickets and managing only 37 runs between overs 21 and 30.

Sree Charani also delivered under pressure, contributing to the collapse of South Africa’s lower order. Nadine De Klerk fought valiantly, but her dismissal in the 46th over sealed South Africa’s fate as they were bowled out for 246 in 45.3 overs.
The victory marks a historic moment for Indian women’s cricket, showcasing the team’s resilience, tactical brilliance, and depth across departments. Celebrations erupted across the stadium as Harmanpreet Kaur lifted the coveted trophy, capping off a tournament that has elevated the profile of women’s cricket globally.
