India lifted the Asia Cup 2025 trophy with a thrilling five-wicket win over Pakistan in the final at Dubai International Stadium. Chasing 147, India overcame a shaky start as Faheem Ashraf and Shaheen Afridi dismissed Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, and captain Suryakumar Yadav cheaply.
However, Tilak Varma (69 off 49) and Shivam Dube steadied the innings with a crucial partnership, guiding India closer to the target despite constant pressure from Pakistan’s bowlers. Dube’s dismissal with 10 runs needed in the final over briefly reignited hopes for Pakistan, but Rinku Singh finished the match in style with a boundary, ending the game with a strike rate of 400.
Earlier, Pakistan appeared set for a big score as Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46) gave them a strong platform. But Kuldeep Yadav’s four-wicket spell, supported by Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel, triggered a dramatic collapse as Pakistan lost 9 wickets for just 33 runs, folding for 146 in 19.1 overs.
With this win, India sealed a hat-trick of victories over Pakistan in the tournament (group stage, Super 4, and final) and defended their Asia Cup crown. Tilak Varma was named Player of the Match for his calm, match-winning innings under pressure
