In a historic moment for India’s quantum computing ecosystem, Bengaluru-based startup QpiAI, one of the eight startups selected under the National Quantum Mission, has officially launched India’s most powerful quantum computer, QpiAI-Indus, featuring 25 superconducting qubits.

The milestone announcement, made on World Quantum Day, marks India’s growing leadership in deep-science and deep-tech innovation. QpiAI-Indus is the first full-stack quantum computing system in the country, integrating advanced quantum processors, scalable control systems, and optimized software for hybrid computing solutions.

A Leap Forward in Quantum Technology

QpiAI-Indus combines next-generation Quantum-HPC platforms and AI-driven quantum applications to unlock transformative solutions across multiple industries, including life sciences, drug discovery, materials sciences, mobility, logistics, sustainability, and climate action.

“India’s quantum journey is accelerating at an unprecedented rate,” said a spokesperson from QpiAI. “With this development, we aim to make quantum computing practical, accessible, and globally impactful, leading the way in national quantum adoption programs and fostering one of the largest quantum talent ecosystems in the world.”

National Quantum Mission: Strengthening India’s Quantum Ecosystem

Under India’s National Quantum Mission, QpiAI is spearheading efforts to build the country’s quantum computing technology ecosystem. Since its founding in 2019, the company has made remarkable progress, including 11 patent applications and generating a revenue of approximately Rs 1 million per annum. Additionally, QpiAI has secured capital from the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) to further its quantum research and development.

Global Collaboration and Future Prospects

The unveiling of QpiAI-Indus aligns India’s quantum ambitions with global advancements in the field. On World Quantum Day, researchers, engineers, policymakers, and technology enthusiasts worldwide celebrated the remarkable breakthroughs in quantum computing.

With this launch, India takes another step forward in developing scalable and commercially viable quantum computing applications, reinforcing its position as a leading force in quantum science and technology.
