Odisha Vigilance’s Forest Wing seized sawmill equipment and valuable timber worth Rs 14,08,292 during a joint raid in Bilasuni village under Niali police limits.
Officials detected an illegal sawmill operating without a valid license. The raid uncovered sawmill accessories and 25.66 cubic feet of processed timber valued at Rs 12,95,792.
In a nearby open field, the team discovered 51.136 cubic feet of hoarded timber worth Rs 1,12,500. The total seizure included 75.796 cubic feet of timber and machinery.
Authorities have launched a detailed investigation to identify the individuals involved and trace the supply chain. Further action will follow based on findings.
