IIT Bhubaneswar Launches Blended M.Tech in Systems Engineering for Industry Experts

In a pioneering move to bridge academia and industry, IIT Bhubaneswar has introduced a blended-mode M.Tech program in Systems Engineering tailored for working professionals with at least three years of industrial experience.


The curriculum, developed in collaboration with Applied Materials India Private Limited, offers multidisciplinary learning with modules on:

  • System behaviour modelling
  • Performance testing and design
  • Reliability engineering & statistical machine learning
  • Requirements management and technical leadership

📢 Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, Director of IIT Bhubaneswar, emphasised the program’s potential to foster joint R&D, innovation, and societal advancement aligned with Atmanirbhar Bharat.

👨‍🏫 Prof. Chandrashekhar Bhende, Dean (PG & Research), highlighted the flexible learning model that enables professionals to lead complex projects across sectors.

🏭 Mr. Sujit Jha, Senior Director at Applied Materials India, stressed the importance of Systems Engineering in multi-domain technologies and reaffirmed the company’s support for academic enrichment initiatives.

📘 Program Coordinator Dr. Srikant Gollapudi outlined that the course will commence shortly, welcoming participants keen on advancing their systems engineering skills.
