In the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings released on Tuesday, Indian players have experienced significant movements owing to standout performances in the ongoing series against England.
Star batter Smriti Mandhana continues to lead the rankings, retaining her rating of 727 after scoring 28 and 42 in the first two ODIs. Meanwhile, Deepti Sharma emerged as one of the biggest gainers—her unbeaten 62 in the first match and a composed 30 in the second earned her a Player of the Match award and a remarkable jump of 10 places to No.23 in the batting charts.
However, it wasn’t all good news for Team India. Harmanpreet Kaur, the team’s captain, struggled with the bat, registering scores of 17 and 7 in the series so far, which resulted in a drop of five positions to No.21.
On England’s side, Sophia Dunkley rose 24 spots to No.52 thanks to her impactful 83-run innings in the opening match, while Alice Davidson-Richards leapt 40 spots to No.118 with her vital half-century.
With the series tied 1-1, all eyes are now on the final ODI, where both teams will look to capitalise on momentum and close the series on a high.
