The International Cricket Council (ICC) has formally announced the complete fixture list and brand-new tournament format for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.
Jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, the global flagship ODI event will feature 14 nations playing across 12 world-class venues from October 2 to November 21, 2027.
Action kicks off on October 2 in Windhoek, Namibia, with a high-stakes three-team Super Series featuring the second, third, and fourth-placed teams from the CWC Qualifier. A single round-robin format across three matches (October 2, 4, and 6) will decide which nation claims the final spot in the main Group Stage.
The main tournament heats up on October 7 in Cape Town with a marquee marquee rematch of the 2023 final, pitting defending champions Australia against India. Co-hosts South Africa will start their campaign on October 9 against New Zealand in Cape Town, while Zimbabwe takes on Qualifier B on the same day in Bulawayo.
High-profile clashes follow thick and fast, highlighted by the ultimate rivalry—India taking on Pakistan in Johannesburg on Sunday, October 10.

Tournament Groups & Direct Qualifiers
Direct qualification was earned by co-hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe alongside the top eight teams in the ICC ODI Rankings as of September 30, 2026. The 12 main group stage teams are split into two groups of six:
- Group A: India, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Qualifier A
- Group B: New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh, Qualifier B
The group stage wraps up on October 24, concluding with a historic fixture between Zimbabwe and India at the newly constructed Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls.
The Brand-New Super 7 Phase
The top three teams from each group—along with the higher-ranked fourth-placed finisher across both groups—will progress to the newly introduced Super 7 stage running from October 25 to November 14. Carrying forward no points from the group stage, every team in the Super 7 will play six additional matches.
To assist traveling fans with ticketing and venue planning, the ICC has pre-seeded top teams into fixture pathways (e.g., A1 India, A2 Australia, A3 Pakistan, B1 New Zealand, B2 South Africa, B3 Sri Lanka, AB4 England). If an unseeded team qualifies at the expense of a seeded side, they assume that seed’s designated schedule.
Knockout Stage & Ticket Ballot
The top four performers from the Super 7 phase will advance to the semi-finals. Semi-final 1 takes place on November 17 in Cape Town, followed by Semi-final 2 on November 18 in Tshwane. The World Cup Final will be played on Sunday, November 21, at the iconic DP World Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, with reserve days allocated for all knockout matches.
Alongside the schedule launch, the ICC opened the official ticket ballot. Entry-level tickets begin at $9.62 USD (R158), scaling up to $31.31 USD (R514) for top-tier fixtures, alongside localized early-bird discounts and family packages.
