A horrific crash occurred on the Oranda overbridge under Gurudijhatia police limits in Athgarh when a chips-laden Hyva rammed into a truck carrying iron rods.
The impact proved fatal as the Hyva driver died instantly at the spot.
The truck was moving from Dhenkanal towards Choudwar when the speeding Hyva struck it from behind. The collision was so severe that the driver’s head was severed from his body, leaving the scene in shock. Eyewitnesses described the accident as one of the most gruesome in recent times.
Police from Gurudijhatia station and personnel from Athagarh Fire Department rushed to the site immediately. They began an investigation and cleared the wreckage to restore traffic flow on the busy route. Authorities confirmed that the driver of the Hyva lost his life on the spot due to the violent impact.
