In a disturbing incident from Timanpur Ashram School in Sinapali block of Nuapada district, the headmaster Manoj Kumar Hota has been suspended following allegations of mental abuse against a sixth-grade student.
The student, Akash Nayak, hails from Golamunda village in Kalahandi district.
According to reports, the headmaster allegedly used abusive language and inflicted mental torture on the student without any provocation. A video capturing the incident circulated widely on social media, sparking public outrage and prompting an official inquiry.
Akash’s parents filed a formal complaint, leading to an investigation by the Additional Welfare Officer and the Sinapali Block Welfare Officer, under the directive of the District Welfare Officer. Based on the inquiry report and the viral video evidence, Nuapada District Collector Madhusudan Das issued a suspension order for Manoj Kumar Hota under letter number 2125/18-09-2025.
The swift administrative response highlights the importance of safeguarding students’ rights and ensuring accountability in educational institutions.
