Eight Class IX students of PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) at Hadagarh in Keonjhar were admitted to Anandapur Sub-Divisional Hospital on Wednesday after falling critically ill.
According to reports, 24 students from Bihar were travelling to Hadagarh JNV under a migration program. During the journey, eight of them consumed stale food, which triggered severe health complications. Their condition worsened by the time they reached the school, prompting immediate medical intervention.
School authorities rushed the affected students to Anandapur Sub-Divisional Hospital. Doctors provided urgent treatment and confirmed that all eight are now stable. Medical teams continue to monitor their recovery closely.
The incident has raised concern among parents and guardians, who were informed promptly by the school administration. Officials assured that necessary steps are being taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
The migration program, designed to foster cultural exchange among students from different regions, faced disruption due to the health scare. However, authorities emphasised that the situation remains under control and the students are receiving proper care.
