Promoting Green Energy and Sustainable Living, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has installed a total of 62.7 kW rooftop solar plants at three key locations—Hands-on Technical Training Centre (27.5 kW), Narendrapur Primary Substation (18.7 kW), and Bhanjabihar Primary Substation (16.5 kW) in Berhampur. These installations mark a significant step in TPSODL’s green energy journey, reducing dependency on conventional power sources.
During the commissioning ceremony at the Hands-on Technical Training Centre in Ambagada, Berhampur, Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, CEO of TPSODL, officially switched on the plant, bringing in sustainable solutions for the company. Senior officials of TPSODL were also present at the event.
The newly installed solar panels are expected to generate 3,700 kWh, 2,520 kWh, and 2,225 kWh of electricity per month at HoTT in Ambagada, Narendrapur PSS, and Bhanjabihar PSS, respectively. This clean energy will not only fulfill the daily power requirements of these offices but also contribute surplus energy to the grid. Over the next 25 years, these installations will collectively help in reducing approximately 1,755 tons of carbon emissions.
These projects align with the government-approved capital expenditure for the financial year 2024-25, which includes an ambitious plan to solarize all TPSODL office buildings across Southern Odisha. By adopting solar energy, TPSODL aims to develop a culture of sustainability, encourage renewable energy adoption, and inspire the community to embrace eco-friendly power solutions.

Notably, TPSODL’s Corporate Office in Berhampur is already powered entirely by a 100-kW rooftop solar plant, making it the company’s first fully green energy office.
