Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati has urged citizens to work collectively towards creating an integrated and forward-looking Odisha.

Speaking as the chief guest at the Odisha Citizens Award ceremony held in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, organised under the auspices of Odisha Television Network (OTV), the Governor emphasised the need for active participation from all sections of society to sustain the state’s rapid progress.

In his address, Governor Kambhampati highlighted that the true advancement of a society is not solely defined by its institutions but is fundamentally shaped by the compassion, character, and commitment of its people. He noted that Odisha stands at a pivotal point in its development journey, with visible rapid strides across various sectors. To maintain this momentum, he stressed the importance of inclusive citizen involvement.

The Governor called for unified action to address pressing challenges such as environmental degradation, cyber crimes, substance abuse, and the swift evolution of technology. He appealed to the public to stay vigilant, safeguard the younger generation, and uphold peace and social harmony.

Praising the Odisha Citizens Award as a prestigious platform, Governor Kambhampati commended its transparent and merit-based selection process, which he said fosters public trust by recognising individuals exemplifying integrity, leadership, and selfless service.

Extending congratulations to the award recipients, the Governor described their dedicated efforts, resilience, and altruistic contributions as inspirations for communities statewide. He underscored that their work reflects a deep commitment to society, bolstering Odisha’s ethical framework. Their achievements serve as beacons, motivating others to dream big, persevere, and give back, he added.

Governor Kambhampati also lauded OTV for its responsible journalism and unwavering dedication to public service. He specifically appreciated the leadership of OTV’s Managing Director, Jagi Mangat Panda, in fortifying platforms that promote excellence and societal impact. He further remarked that OTV plays a crucial role in enhancing public discourse, empowering communities, and linking Odisha to the global stage.

The ceremony commenced with a welcome address by Jagi Mangat Panda, Director of Odisha Television Network.
