Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Pravati Parida attended the closing evening of Keonjhar’s famous festival ‘Gonasika Mahotsav-2024’.
‘Gonasika Mahotsav’ is an excellent platform to encourage the art, culture, tradition, folk dance, rural crafts, artisans and artists of Keonjhar.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Gonasika Mahotsav has now created a buzz across the state and local artists have an opportunity to showcase their talent.
The Gonasika Mahotsav has given Mission Shakti mothers a market opportunity to sell their handiwork. So far, Mission Shakti mothers have done a business worth Rs 75 lakh and it is estimated that by the 27th of December, the business will be worth Rs 3 crore, the Deputy Chief Minister said adding, “Gonasika Mahotsav promotes women’s empowerment and women’s development.
“Our government is a people’s government and we will do what we have said. Subhadra assistance will be provided till it reaches the last beneficiary,” said the Deputy Chief Minister asking people to be patient and not get distracted.
“Women empowerment, social and economic development of women are our commitment. In Keonjhar district, out of 4 lakh 44 thousand 375 Subhadra applications, 3 lakh 36 thousand 286 people have received Subhadra assistance and field verification of 65 thousand has also been completed. When the fourth phase of Subhadra is given in January, 78 thousand women in Keonjhar will get the first instalment of Subhadra,” the Dy CM said and added that the dream of a developed Odisha will be realized only under the leadership of women.
Under the leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Mohan Majhi’s government is determined to create 30 lakh ‘Lakhpati Didis’ by 2027. At present, 69,000 more women have been identified for inclusion, she added.
“The sacred land of Maa Tarini, the land of freedom fighters, full of mines, quarries, forests, rivers, and waterfalls, Keonjhar has immense tourism potential. In the coming days, with the development of tourism, Keonjhar will be considered an industrially prosperous district,” said the Deputy Chief Minister.
