A late-night homecoming block party attended by over 1,000 people turned violent early Sunday, October 4, 2026, leaving two young m
en dead and as many as 35 others injured in Vienna, Georgia. The shooting occurred around 1:25 AM along Pine Street while Dooly County Sheriff’s Office deputies were actively patrolling and monitoring the large crowd.
Dooly County Coroner Brett Walls confirmed that the two deceased victims were men aged 20 and 23 whose bodies were located in the 600 block of Pine Street, where emergency responders pronounced them dead at the scene.
Investigators found evidence indicating that gunfire was directed toward a group of roughly 50 people and originated from at least two locations about a block apart, including the 900 block of Pine Street.
Emergency personnel directly transported at least 25 victims to nearby medical facilities, while several others sought medical attention independently, bringing the total estimated count of injured individuals up to 35.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has joined forces with the Dooly County Sheriff’s Office to process the scene, review evidence, and coordinate autopsies at the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Perry, Georgia.
No suspects or motives have been publicly disclosed by law enforcement at this stage.
