New Delhi: Four Congress MPs have been suspended from the Lok Sabha for the entire monsoon session for disrupting the proceedings of the House.
Speaker Om Birla has suspended Manickam Tagore, Ramya Haridas, Jothimani and TN Prathapan for the entire session for protesting against price rises and inflation inside the House with placards and posters.
The Congress stalwarts were earlier warned by the Speaker, who asked them to behave and demonstrate outside the House.
Reacting to the suspension, the grand old party said, “The government is trying to intimidate us by suspending our MPs. They were trying to raise issues which matter to the people.”
The Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day after continuous protests by the Opposition.
