Qatar: Shah Rukh Khan came to the Jio Cinema Studios of FIFA World Cup final match to promote his upcoming actioner Pathaan co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.
At the studios, the superstar was joined by former English footballer and professional manager Wayne Rooney. Rooney asked SRK, “Who is Pathaan?”, to which the Kal Ho Naa Ho actor said that the character is based on fearless people like the footballer and added, “#Pathaan is the guy whom you call at the last minute when you are all tied up when you can’t find a solution!”.
“Whatever I know of football, I used to watch football with my mom when television came into India, and post that it was always Manchester United, Mr Wayne Rooney, so my education of soccer is from Mr Rooney. So big fan, I have only come here not to promote the film, or talk about football, but just to sit next to Rooney,” he said
During their fun interaction, SRK was completely smitten by Rooney’s presence. Interestingly, King Khan was seen recreating Rooney’s pose while he made the latter do his trademark pose. In the picture, King Khan is seen donning a casual outfit while Rooney is wearing a formal suit. Their picture has taken the Internet by storm.

During the chat, Shah Rukh and Rooney got a chance to ask each other questions. Rooney asked how Bollywood actors look so young. He joked that like Aussies, Bollywood actors also eat rice and chicken. However, he immediately clarifies that he is joking. In return, Shah Rukh jokingly asked Rooney how footballers like Argentina Lionel Messi are still young. King Khan added that he is a fan of Messi and was all praise for him.
Pathaan is a stylish action flick, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film is all set to hit the theatres on January 25, 2023. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, the film also features Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles. The film is now embroiled in controversy after the release of ‘Besharam Rang’ song. Many claimed that the song was vulgar and criticised Deepika’s choice of clothes.
