Fakir Mohan University has announced the long-awaited schedule for the 7th Semester B.Sc. Nursing examinations after strong protests by students in Baleshwar.
The Office of the Controller of Examinations confirmed that theory exams will be held on July 14 and 15, 2026, while practicals are scheduled for July 17 and 18.
The notification covers the 2021-22 and 2022-23 admission batches. Theory papers include Community Health Nursing and Midwifery/Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OBG) Nursing, with exams conducted between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm at designated centres in Balasore and Bhadrak districts. Practical marks must be submitted by 3:00 pm on July 18.
The announcement follows weeks of agitation, with students staging a dharna outside the campus, demanding resolution of delays that stretched their four-year course beyond six years. University authorities have directed affiliated nursing colleges to circulate the schedule among students.
The decision has brought relief to hundreds of nursing students who had been waiting for clarity on their academic future. The notification also urged colleges to report any omissions or clashes immediately.
