A fire broke out in the housekeeping room of Balasore District Headquarters Hospital, sparking panic among patients and staff.

The blaze damaged hospital supplies but caused no injuries or casualties.

Eyewitnesses noticed smoke rising from the housekeeping room and immediately alerted hospital authorities. Locals rushed to the hospital entrance and urged staff to act quickly. The Fire Department arrived without delay and contained the flames before they spread to other sections of the hospital.

The housekeeping room stored phenyl, clothes, and essential hospital supplies. Flames consumed these items, leaving charred remains scattered across the floor. Patients expressed fear as smoke filled the corridors, but firefighters reassured them and guided them to safety.

Hospital officials confirmed that no lives were lost. Doctors and nurses resumed their duties after firefighters cleared the affected area. The administration ordered an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. Preliminary reports suggest a short circuit triggered the incident.

The hospital management promised to strengthen safety measures and review electrical systems. Staff members emphasised the importance of regular inspections to prevent similar accidents. Authorities assured the public that patient care would continue without disruption.

The incident highlighted the need for improved fire safety in healthcare facilities. Balasore residents praised the Fire Department for its swift response and dedication. The hospital administration acknowledged the damage but expressed relief that no one suffered harm.
