Puri: The sale of Lord Jagannath’s Nirmalya prasad on e-commerce store Amazon has sparked resentment among the people and an FIR in this connection has been lodged on Wednesday at the Singhadwara police station in Puri.
A Srimandir servitor (sevayat), Sambunath Khuntia of Khuntia Niyog lodged the complaint against Amazon India.
“Nirmalya, three Khajas, and tulsi leaves are being sold on Amazon at a discounted price of Rs 799 without any permission of the temple administration, he said.
Lodging an FIR in this connection, Khuntia has sought strict actions against the persons involved in the unauthorised sale of Nirmalya Prasad from the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.
On the other hand, no information could be availed from the temple administration in this regard.
