A man and his son died after a fire engulfed their roadside tea stall at Sanapadar under Begunia police limits in Khurda district of Odisha.

The victims, identified as Rajesh Kumar Sahoo and his son Laxmidhar Sahoo, were asleep inside the stall when the blaze broke out late Saturday night.

The father-son duo had been running the small tea stall along the Sanapadar–Deuli Road for their livelihood. According to reports, the fire spread rapidly, leaving them trapped inside. Local residents noticed the flames and alerted authorities, but by the time the fire was brought under control, both had been charred to death.

Police confirmed that the exact cause of the fire remains unknown. Investigators have launched a probe to determine how the blaze started. The incident has shocked the local community, highlighting the vulnerability of small roadside establishments to sudden fire hazards.
