Bisra Police in Sundargarh district uncovered a fake mobile oil manufacturing unit in the vicinity of the police station.
The raid, led by Officer Jyotiranjan Pati, exposed counterfeit stickers of well-known brands such as Hero, Castrol, and Servo, along with numerous fake and empty oil bottles.
Two individuals operating the factory were arrested, and assets including a Nexa car (OD-14-P-569) and a Honda scooter (OD-14-AM-7056) were seized. The estimated value of the counterfeit materials is Rs 30 lakhs. Authorities have registered the case under number 109/23.3.2025, and the accused have been sent to court for further proceedings.
DSP Ambit Mohanty praised the operation, describing it as a significant step in curbing counterfeit activities along the Odisha-Jharkhand border.
The raid highlights the importance of stringent measures to combat fraudulent practices in the manufacturing and retail sectors.
