Maoist leader Rajita issued a press note declaring her refusal to surrender and warning that the armed struggle will continue.
She emphasised that sacrifices made by comrades will not go in vain and rejected any government proposals for compromise.
Rajita, secretary of the MADC division, stated that the organisation will never dissolve and the conflict will never be abandoned. She warned of violence against those who attempt to obstruct their movement and described surrendered cadres as cowards. Her statement comes as the government has set March 31 as the deadline for Maoists to join the mainstream.
The press note has triggered widespread discussion across Odisha. Rajita’s defiance highlights the ongoing challenge authorities face in persuading Maoist groups to abandon armed resistance. Officials have repeatedly urged cadres to surrender and reintegrate into society, offering rehabilitation packages and support.
