A US-based former Infosys consultant has shared his disappointment after being laid off by Oracle just nine months into his new role. His LinkedIn post has sparked conversations on job insecurity and the emotional toll of sudden layoffs.
In his viral LinkedIn post, the consultant revealed that he joined Oracle at a $35,000 annual pay cut, expecting long-term career stability and growth.
“I figured if I spent two years in support, I could move to management. I worked really hard every single day, showed up without fail, and thought my efforts would secure my future. But in the end, it didn’t matter,” he wrote.
Laid Off During Downsizing Drive
According to him, Oracle informed him that his position was terminated due to downsizing. However, he expressed doubts about the reason, adding that he and several others were laid off suddenly.
“I didn’t even get a full year to show them what I can do. I had so many plans for Oracle. Now I’m back to square zero,” he lamented.

His post drew emotional reactions from professionals online, with many relating to his frustration.
