Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today said that efforts are on to make Odisha prosperous and empowered on all fronts.
Paying glowing tributes to the father of the nation and freedom fighters of the country on the 72 Republic Day on Tuesday, Patnaik in his message to the people of Odisha said the sacrifice of the freedom fighters and Covid Warriors will always be remembered.
The Chief Minister paid tributes to Pandit Nehru, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das, Veer Surendra Sai, Boxi Jagabandhu, Rama Devi, Malati Chowdhury, Dr Harekrushna Mahtab and the legendary Biju Patnaik.
Patnaik said the beauty of India lies in its cultural diversity and unity and added that this feature has given us the strength to forge ahead with the quality of a strong nation. He said our constitution has given us equal rights and freedom.
This diversity has made our democracy more vibrant, Patnaik said and added that it has strengthened the moral fiber of the nation.
Dwelling upon the progress of Odisha on different fronts, the Chief Minister said the development in agriculture, infrastructure and economies have been palpable. The Chief Minister in his message said the state has attracted more investment, agricultural production has increased and irrigation facility has become adequate.
Odisha is in the forefront of welfare measures, Patnaik said and added that the benighted places of Malkangiri have now been linked to the national mainstream. Patnaik said food security and other welfare measures have benefited the common man.
The Chief Minister said Odisha has successfully kept the dreaded coronavirus at bay and added that the sacrifice of Covid Warriors will not go in vain. He urged the people to adhere to Covid guidelines like using masks and maintaining social distance to protect them from coronavirus although vaccination has already started in the state.
Closing the message, the Chief Minister said that the people must come forward to place the state in the number one position. The people of Odisha must strive hard with commitment and sincerity to achieve all-round success, the Chief Minister said.
