In a significant high-level meeting aimed at bolstering the party’s position in the state, Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal met Bharatiya Janata Party National President Nitin Nabin at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Thursday.
The closed-door discussion focused on Odisha’s organisational roadmap and the broader political landscape ahead of crucial local body elections expected early next year. Both leaders reviewed strategies to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure, empower karyakartas, and expand public outreach while ensuring effective implementation of central and state welfare schemes.
Sources indicated that the agenda also covered preparations for the upcoming local body polls, pending appointments to state corporations and public sector undertakings, and the possibility of expanding the Odisha Council of Ministers under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
Samal, who has been steering the state unit since the BJP’s historic victory in the 2024 assembly elections, briefed the national leadership on ground-level challenges and opportunities. Nabin, who took charge as the youngest-ever BJP national president earlier this year, emphasised the need for continuous organisational activity and a 365-day engagement model to keep the party machinery sharp.
