With summer vacation travel picking up pace across the country, the East Coast Railway has announced the extension of several special train services to ensure convenient and hassle-free journeys for passengers.
The decision aims to cater to the increased passenger demand on popular routes connecting Odisha with Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal during the peak summer months.
The following special trains will continue to operate with their existing timings, stoppages, and coach composition:
1. **02811 Bhubaneswar – Yesvantpur Special** has been extended up to **27th June 2026**.
2. **02812 Yesvantpur – Bhubaneswar Special** has been extended up to **29th June 2026**.
3. **08311 Sambalpur – Erode Special** has been extended up to **27th May 2026**.
4. **08312 Erode – Sambalpur Special** has been extended up to **29th May 2026**.
5. **08508 Visakhapatnam – Shalimar Special** has been extended up to **30th June 2026**.
6. **08507 Shalimar – Visakhapatnam Special** has been extended up to **30th June 2026**.
These extensions are expected to significantly ease congestion on these routes, particularly for passengers travelling to Bengaluru (via Yesvantpur), Tamil Nadu, and Kolkata (via Shalimar).
