Lucknow Super Giants suffered a disappointing batting collapse, getting bundled out for a below-par 141 in 18.4 overs against Delhi Capitals in the fifth match of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.
The innings came to a dramatic end when Lungisani Ngidi struck twice in the 18th over. First, he dismissed Anrich Nortje, before trapping Mohsin Khan for a golden duck (0 off 1 ball), caught by Mukesh Kumar at short third man. Ngidi’s clever slower ball proved decisive as Mohsin tried to clear his front leg but only managed an edge.
LSG’s batting lineup struggled to build momentum throughout the innings, with regular wickets preventing any substantial partnerships. Despite having a strong home crowd behind them, the Super Giants could not capitalize on the batting-friendly conditions early on, ultimately falling well short of a competitive total.
Delhi Capitals, who won the toss and elected to field, will now need 142 runs to secure their first victory of the season. With a solid bowling performance that restricted LSG, DC enter the chase as firm favorites.
Stay tuned for the chase as Delhi Capitals look to chase down the target and start their campaign on a winning note. Will LSG’s bowlers mount a comeback, or will DC’s batters seal the deal comfortably?
