While Ajay Devgn is well known for big box office openings in India with hits like Golmaal and Singham, his new film Drishyam: The Conclusion is setting records globally, breaking expectations by delivering a historic domestic performance alongside a record-breaking opening day overseas.
The film grossed approximately USD 1.925 million (Rs. 18.25 crore) internationally on its opening day alone. To put that in perspective, this single-day overseas haul almost equals the entire opening weekend collection of the previous instalment in the franchise.
Combined with an estimated Rs. 74 crore gross in India, the film amassed a staggering Rs. 92 crore worldwide on Day 1—marking career-best numbers across the board for Ajay Devgn.
The film performed exceptionally across key overseas markets, with standout collections coming from Australia and North America.
In Australia, the film posted AUD 295,000, while the United States and Canada registered USD 500,000 and CAD 310,000 respectively. Trade analysts note that the numbers could have surged higher had key international locations not run at near 100% capacity. Strong turnouts were also recorded across the Middle East and the United Kingdom.
