U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the creation of a White House task force aimed at improving preparations for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The directive, expected to be signed via executive order, will bring together members of Trump’s cabinet and multiple federal agencies to streamline intergovernmental coordination.
The task force will address key logistical areas such as transportation planning, visa processing for foreign athletes and officials, and security arrangements. The LA Games, scheduled three years from now, mark the third time the city will host the Olympics, following events in 1932 and 1984.
“This initiative reflects our shared commitment to delivering not just the biggest, but the greatest Games the world has ever seen,” said Casey Wasserman, President of the LA28 Organising Committee.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt noted that Trump considers the opportunity to oversee this global event in his second term “a great honour.”
