Humans have a long-standing relationship with dogs, who have proven their value in various roles, from catching thieves to serving in security forces, showcasing their fighting skills.
Today, a large crowd gathered at the Biju Patnaik Sports Stadium in Baramunda to watch a ‘Dog Show.’
The event featured 48 different breeds of dogs, including Great Danes, Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Beagles, Akita Inus, Indian Pariahs, Spitz, German Shepherds, French Bulldogs, and Rottweilers.
The dogs captivated the audience with their abilities in tracking and their unique behavioural characteristics. Dog trainer Rashmita showcased exemplary citizenship through her Great Dane.
The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development (ARD) Department and the Odisha Kennel Club.
Director of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Vijay Amruta Kulange, graced as chief guest and inaugurated the event.
Subrata Prushty, President of the Odisha Kennel Club, provided a detailed description of all the dog breeds present. At the end of the event, all participants were recognized for their efforts. Finally, Dr Dambarudhar Tarai, Joint Director of the Fisheries and ARD Department, delivered the vote of thanks.
