Police arrested three youths in Sundargarh district after they allegedly attacked two men and set their motorcycle ablaze in Deuli village under Lefripoda police limits on Sunday night.
The victims, identified as Sameer Patel and Shubhendu Shekhar from Balichuan under Hemgiri police station, had travelled to Deuli village on their bike (OD 15/4752). They reportedly clashed with local youths Akash Ganda, Bikash Ganda, and Aditya Ganda over previous enmity.
The confrontation escalated when the three brothers assaulted Sameer and Shubhendu and then torched their motorcycle. Both victims sustained serious injuries.
Police rushed to the spot after receiving information. Lefripoda IIC and SI Anshumanatosh Mohanty rescued the injured men and sent them to the hospital for treatment. Officers seized the burnt motorcycle and detained the accused.
Authorities registered Case No. 134/26 and produced the three arrested youths in court on Monday. Police confirmed that further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the attack and any additional involvement.
