The ongoing diarrhoea outbreak in Odisha’s Jajpur district has claimed another life. A 42-year-old man from Jajpur succumbed to the illness on Monday at Cuttack’s SCB Medical College and Hospital.
Hospital authorities confirmed that the patient had been admitted two days ago after experiencing severe symptoms. With his passing, the total number of diarrhoea-related deaths in Jajpur district has risen to 15, intensifying concerns about the outbreak’s spread.
Local health officials have been monitoring the situation closely, urging residents to take preventive measures. Authorities have ramped up sanitation efforts and are conducting awareness campaigns to contain the infection.
Meanwhile, affected families continue to demand better healthcare intervention and faster response from medical teams. The state health department is expected to issue further updates on containment efforts in the coming days.
